A travel poster promoting Newport, Rhode Island, will be on display at the Springfield Art Museum’s fund-raiser on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The Annual 99 Times Party, the Springfield Art Museum’s signature fundraising event to benefit the Collection Preservation & Conservation Fund returns Saturday, September 30, 2017. What began in 2014 with six initial sponsors, is now the largest event of the year, with more than 40 sponsors. The museum is located at 1111 E. Brookside Drive. General Admission tickets are $25 in advance, and $35 at the door. The event runs from 7-9 p.m.

Twenty local stylists and artists will transform the museum into Gilded Age Newport, Rhode Island, to raise funds for the restoration of John Frederick Kensett’s Shore Landscape, Newport, a notable exemplar of “luminist” painting, in the Museum’s collection since 1949. Kensett was an influential member of the Hudson River School and a founder of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Costumed guests at this year’s event will be feted with food, libations and live music from synth-pop duo LUX while enjoying 10 living art tableaus featuring modern takes on the historic interiors of Newport’s radiant mansions.

Stylists include Casey Bovee, Be Home Soon Design; Sara Gonzalez, Ensembles of the Past; Amy Grace & Jennifer Grace Duran, Greens; Stephanie Hornickel, DG2 Design Landscape Architecture; Heather Kane, 417 Magazine; Jacque Pitts, Brashears Furniture; Christa Schmitz & Sara Schmitz Olson, Chrisara Designs; Tamara Styer, Deitra Magazine; Nathan Taylor, Obelisk Home; and Jennifer Vaughn, Sew-It-All/Fashion Designers Society.

Also on display will be 10’ tall murals inspired by Newport’s architecture and seascape. Artists include: Marian Stahl Chamberlain, Nicole Chilton, Lenetta Choate, Cole Closser, Will Knauer, Todd Lowery, Linda Passeri, Rebekah Polly, Jacqueline Warren, and Blake Willis Tiggemann, last year’s Watercolor USA overall prize winner.

New this year’s VIP Sponsor Hour from 6-7 pm., will be hosted by O’Reilly Hospitality Management featuring signature cocktails courtesy of Macadoodles and entertainment by Randall Shreve.

Guests are encouraged to dress in creative cocktail attire in keeping with the theme, with an emphasis on anything with a metallic luster or nautically inspired. Part of the fun of the event is being photographed inside the interactive, immersive art tableaus or with the larger than life murals. Guests also receive a commemorative Look Book that immortalizes the 20 ephemeral creations on display for one night only. 99x: Gilded Coast Glamour is  presented by Esterly, Schneider & Associates, Inc.
